It's great to see the kids getting excited and enthusiastic about the Olympics. We have had several very cool posters in about lots of different subjects and athletes. Check them out below:

The students in the Discoverers 20/21 enjoyed the opportunity to create some weird and wonderful hairstyles to rock it out for Wacky Hair Day and help to raise some funds for The Cancer Society.

Our class has been really enjoying reading Charlotte's Web by E.B.White. We have been following this really neat Blog called Chapter Chat NZ. It is this great Blog where Year 3/4 classes from all over NZ join together to share and discuss a chapter book.

Performing Art's - Bollywood

Room 20 worked really hard in small groups to produce a Bollywood style dance. They were thinking about the elements of dance to achieve an interesting performance. We think they look great :)

Garden to Table - In the Kitchen

The latest session of Garden to Table saw us making Borscht Soup with beetroot.  This is an Eastern European speciality and can been eaten both hot and cold.  For most of the class this was their first taste of Borscht.

Verdict:  Most students devoured more than one bowl.  So that means a thumbs up!!!

Alex's Triumph in Kung Fu!

Alex was not to be out done by his big sister Amy (she is currently featured in Room 8 & 9's blog)! He obviously had a fantastic month at his Kung Fu lessons!!

Here he is with not only a very smart looking certificate but also a gift voucher for The Warehouse. Happy spending Alex!!! :)

Weetbix Tryathlon for Kids 2016

Look at the amazing turn out of St Martins School students at the Weetbix Tryathlon last weekend at Jelly Park.  Can you spot any Room 20 and 21 students among the group. There are plenty of us here!
